Session Ends with Great Tournament Play

We got to see a lot of great soccer this weekend and I want to thank the kids and their Coaches for the wonderful effort they all put forth.  Every game was a good one and while tournament play always ratchets the tension up a bit I still saw lots of really good fundamental play from the kids.  It's great to see how they evolve over the course of a session and to see so many kids making big strides in developing skills and trusting those skills in game situations.

Trey tries to get his dribble working against the Piranhas.
The Winter session is always a great opportunity for that sort of growth for our rec players as they get to see a lot of "select" players in action as club teams and players join us regularly each year for this session.  I can see at the start of the session that some of the NKYA kids are intimidated by these more polished players but by mid-session they're imitating them and by the end of the session they're asking mom and dad "so, what is this Kings thing?"

NKYA is always here for the recreational players and our aim is always to instruct and with that in mind I want to thank the club teams and individual players  and upper level rec teams from ISC and BCYSA who joined us for this session and who showed all the kids a lot about soccer and about good sportsmanship.  See you next Fall I hope.
