U4/U6 Pre-Season Clinic on August 11th

By pushing the start of the session back a week we get a weekend free for holding a little pre-season skills clinic for our U4 and U6 players.  That will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 11th at Richardson Road Park.

We will be using this clinic to introduce new players to the game and to work with all the kids on developing a basic set of fundamental skills that will allow them to really play the game and enjoy themselves.  And we'll be helping them to develop their basic motor skills in the process.  Soccer is a pretty simple game and to be really engaged in the action the kids only need to develop a few simple skills.  We'll show them some things to practice at home and teach them a few instructional games that you can use together when playing around at home.  A few examples of the sort of exercises and games we'll use can be found in the menu there to the right.  You'll also find a link over there for info on equipment you'll need.

So, parents, when you arrive be prepared to be involved yourselves so that you can learn how to keep your child interested in soccer throughout the week, not just on game days (when they start thinking about what's for snack or whether the Kona Ice truck will be there!).  If you plan to attend please RSVP to the email address below and please arrive at the fields by 8:45 AM so we can begin promptly at 9:00.

Contact me if you have any questions at nkyacoachpat@gmail.com.  And please feel free to invite any friends along to play too, even if they haven't registered with NKYA.  If they decide they like the game they can sign up to play that day.  We've got room for everybody!
