Week Two.

This is turning out to be such a great session.  I was worried about how low the registration numbers were going into week one but what I've been seeing in the games is a lot of kids who know each other and who are comfortable playing against each other.  The session as a whole has a relaxed feel and thanks to the practice time we've gotten for the U8 and U10 teams it looks like it will be a productive one too.  I saw so much good quality play this weekend and I'm seeing more kids than ever  in each division working at their basic skills.  I tell my own teams repeatedly that I don't care about the score in our games, I want to see my players using their skills and playing good, fundamentally sound soccer.  That's what matters.  And it's easier to get that across in this session as the size and number of teams makes the whole session feel more like an extended pick-up game.  But of course we are keeping score and the standings will be posted here shortly. ;)
