Our first NKYA Goal Keeper Clinic was a great success and we had thirty one players participating. I want to thank Coach Jill Gronotte of Notre Dame Academy for her help and for bringing in two of her keepers to show the kids how it's done. It seemed like everyone had a lot of fun. I had the chance to see some of our keepers in action Sunday and there was definitely a boost in confidence evident, especially in the punting that I saw.
We will definitely try to do this sort of thing every session and I think a regular Keeper Clinic would be a great thing for the league as a whole. If you are interested in other training opportunities please consider the four week clinic being offered by Happy Feet/Legends Soccer at Midwest this December. You can get details at kylegendssoccer.com. Coach/Trainer Eric Henderson will be working with kids in all age groups from U8 up on deceptive dribbling techniques.
Registration for the Winter I session is now open. The session starts on Jan. 7th.
